Widén Gården - Sea Buckthorn of Bohuslän
Wideum Garden, our own brand name!
At the plantation, at Widén Gården in Tanum, in the north of Bohuslän, Sweden, there are about 1.300 Sea-Buckthorn plants. The salty winds from the ocean give the berries an intense taste.
Wideum Garden has it roots in the Northern parts of the Swedish west coast. In Edsvik north of Grebbestad, close to the grand nature reserve Tjurpannan.
Wideum Garden is the result of years of commitment, studies and a belief to make the impossible possible. It was founded in the fall of 2003 by two sisters from Edsvik.

To contribute to better health with the help of the berries.
To have more and more people grow these plants.
To pass on old knowledge together with new research to our future, to the next generation.
Imagine swaying Sea-Buckthorn plants, looking almost like olive trees, becoming an alternative to vineyards in our part of the world.

Annette Hemréus.
She studied ecological technology, and her final exam was "Cultivate, preserve and expand Northern Bohuslän".
The goal was to find new, or make use of previous, bio resources within agriculture that could generate products in the form of merchandise and services thru solutions which are ecologically, technically and economically adjusted towards a durable development.
Paula Helltegen Widén, also has a business in rehabilitation, employment and activities.
She is very interested in natural products, good health thru diet and is a vegetarian gourmet.
In 1998, she and Annette put together a project. With this they won first prize in LEADER II, a local project to promote new ideas for the communities in the northern part of Bohuslän.
This stimulated, of course, to keep on fighting with high goals.
To import the first plants.
To spread them through out the surroundings.
To talk and write about, and give out tasting samples from the first berries they had purchased.
To have faith to put things on the line for their new future.
An exciting and interesting journey..
Their own plantation, with about 1300 plants, has just begun to produce the first ”grains of gold”.
